About THE ARTIST:
Timothy Ronald is an Australian artist living and working in Sydney. He produces paintings using styles and techniques derived from Renaissance and Early Modern European traditions, drawing on a vast range of subjects from Classical mythology to sacred and secular history.
He uses historically accurate methods and pigments to work within the aesthetic traditions of 16th and 17th century Italian, French and Flemish painting, 18th century French and English genre paintings (such as landscapes), and 18th and 19th century Neoclassicism and Academicism.
The artist is able to take private or public commissions in a range of styles as exhibited on this website (on canvas, panel, or as in situ murals or ceilings), however please be advised that this process is subject to discussion with the artist regarding availability and suitability for the proposal. New works take time to plan and produce and require a suitable home.

Bachelor of Fine Arts. (COFA UNSW, Painting & Drawing, Printmaking), 2010-2011 (partial completion).
Julian Ashton Art School, study of casts and anatomy, night classes (2013).
Bachelor of Arts (Hon. Classics): 2:1. (University of Sydney), 2010-2016. Involved a one-year exchange at Edinburgh University, (2011-2012). Subjects also taken in English Literature, Art History, French and German.
Master of Arts in Art History, Curatorship and Renaissance Culture: 1:1. (The Warburg Institute (The University of London)) 2018-2019. Involved study of Renaissance art and history under curators of The National Gallery, London; linguistic study of Early Modern Italian, Latin, French and palaeography; archival and research skills pertinent to museum curating.
